Mr Dionisio Garrido:

My first wish consists in expressing my most cordial greetings to you, your honourable wife, your children, especially the dearest, whom we know to have already recovered from his circulatory ailment, and your brothers who are attentive to the analysis of our information offered in the past by these expeditionaries who write to you.

Sir: From my brothers not present today I have received this flow of information about you. I would consider myself fortunate to know you personally, or at least to hold some cordial conversation with all of you over a telephone circuit. Reasons of group discipline prevent me, but let my sincere wish remain that the cherished spiritual bridge with our people should never be torn.

Although they are not on Earth, I sense that my brothers AXOO three begotten by AGUU twenty-eight, DAA three begotten by EIEA five hundred and two, DEI ninety-eight begotten by DEI ninety-seven would joyfully share this gesture of symbolic alliance.

My prior wish is to apologise to you for continuing to maintain a confidential monitoring of certain aspects of your sacred privacy. To hide it would be ignoble. Our conduct is backed only by ethical arguments involved in our own security. But if your awareness of this fact should cause you or your brothers a certain degree of uneasiness, I hasten to inform you that this surveillance will never serve to cause you harm, and that its limits outline only what concerns us in particular.

By these technical means of monitoring we have followed the course of your activities over the span of those hundreds of days and we know of your alliances with brothers of yours in the city of Barcelona; we recorded some of your conversations and we know the dialogues held by the residents of that city regarding you and us.

I wish to reveal to you some reasons for abstention in the weave of our mutual relations. If, in the years when we established oral and written links with citizens of the noble nation of Spain, my brothers refrained from connecting with those brothers in Barcelona, you must not interpret it as a symptom of underestimation, but as due to the fear that, as they were linked in a specialised association, reliable information about our existence might be channelled in a way dangerous for us, polarised both towards macrosocial establishments and towards government departments, for which, on the other hand, we keep our deep respect.

You will perfectly sense the situation of unstable equilibrium that afflicts any kind of relations with members of the terrestrial social network (humanity of Earth).

Until now, our simple and improvised technique has consisted in asking the men and women with whom we established bridges or branches of information flow to keep prudent reserve, firmly begging them to avoid linking up with one another to exchange documentation and opinions, adopting attitudes of self-imposed anonymity, and to avoid any tendency that might turn into an embryonic public awareness or state of social opinion about us.

Only in isolated cases, and you, Mr Dionisio Garrido, were witness to one example, did my brothers venture, after rigorous control, to experiment with small social groups set in different cultural frameworks (scientific, lay, religious and political) in various nations of this solidified star.

But consider that we must not exert material or even moral coercion on you, preventing you from breaking down those barriers of mental reserve and precautionary secrecy which serve only our strategy of self-defence.

In that way, certain brothers of yours, having escaped from our control, can damage our peaceful mission of study at its very core, even without consciously intending to harm us.

That is what has happened with former collaborators of my brothers who, spurred on by enthusiasm and with their mental mechanisms clouded by this affective reaction, no doubt well-intentioned, forgot the careful cover rules given to them and naively offered you, in the framework of a private and uncontrolled correspondence, elements that may facilitate their identification.

Now you will understand why we intensify a surveillance whose practice is directed only towards our own self-defence.

I am therefore obliged to invoke your honour and, without the slightest wish to exert any kind of coercion whatever your future attitude, humbly to beg that you and your brothers respect the only wish we have expressed to you in return for our flow of information: respect for the incognito of our helpers and other Earth brothers who maintained or maintain documentary links with us, even knowing that such inviolability takes away arguments in favour of an existence of ours which in no case do we care to corroborate at present.

If you were to ask my opinion on the line of conduct to follow with the brothers with whom you have already begun earlier connections, I will tell you that, faced with the fait accompli, and provided that you maintain a prudent watchfulness over the use they will make of such documents and that they share the exhortations set out above regarding secrecy and incognito, I must agree that depriving them of such information would perhaps infringe some ethical norm of coexistence.
